Greetings Fellow Earthlings

I hope you are enjoying a joyous and prosperous summer.  Here in the Northeast corner of the Midwestern part of the bottom Country of the Northern Continent of the Western Hemisphere it’s been hot and cool and sunny and rainy and windy and calm.  Sound a lot like they way your life has been going?  Yeah, mine too.

Lots of interesting happenings have occurred here in the Hazlett household.  The biggest event has been the graduation of my daughter Grace from high school.  Her very successful academic career will now lead her to EmersonHonorsCollege in Boston where she will pursue film studies.  As you can tell, I’m a mighty proud Dad.

I’ve had many wonderful opportunities to perform and also staff songwriting seminars.  In April I headed up the Madison Songwriters Guild Retreat in DodgevilleWI and we had a marvelous weekend.

My latest CD, “The Corner of My Eye has been receiving some very nice reviews and generating some good airplay on both traditional and internet stations.

check out the reviews on my reviews page.

I wrote an article on songwriting that was published on the CD Baby DIY webpage found here:

CD Baby’s The DIY Musician

I had the good fortune to be interviewed on a music and cooking radio show and podcast to share some favorite family recipes which can be heard here:

The Backstage Gourmet
The show aired on June 3rd.

I had the pleasure of being a featured showcase artist for the Michigan Presenters Annual Conference in Traverse City.

In July I will once again be a member of Dick Siegel’s staff for the Singer/Songwriter Summer Camp Program for theInterlochenArtsAcademy.  This time I’ll be on staff for two sessions and so will spend a glorious four weeks at Interlochen instructing some of the most talented young songwriters in the country.  It’s a real blessing to have the opportunity to work with these students and to be included in a group of such distinguished fellow staff members, Dick SiegelErin Zindle, Natalia Zuckerman and Anne Heaton.

In September I am staffing a songwriting unit at The Alcona Arts Retreat.  It will be a weekend of intense but beautiful songwriting activities at a gorgeous location in Alcona County Michigan.  There will only be twelve participants in this program but there are still some available slots.

I extend my gratitude to each of you for your kindness and support over the years.  May you all be richly blessed in every space of your lives.

With Great Fondness,

Dan
